Why was I sent a verification code at 12:27 am while no one was on their devices?

Sometime an unauthorized person tries to sign in to your account.


Check your Apple ID device list (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064) and remove any device that shouldn't be signed in using the steps in the link.

 

If there are none that shouldn’t be signed in, then you should not have a problem at this point. But, if an unauthorized device signed in, Change your Apple ID password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201355 

 

Here is What to do after you change your Apple ID or password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204071

Thank you so much! I will admit it startled me in the middle of the night and I couldn't think of how or who could be trying to get into my Apple ID!! I went through those first three steps and there was no other device signed up under my Apple ID other than my own. I will just double check those other links that you provided and I appreciate all of your help! Thank you!
