iMovie for Mojave

I have a Late 2013 iMac 21.5" running Mojave. I have an audio interface that some users have found to have issues with Catalina which is why I haven't updated yet.

My iMovie looks like at some point it was updating but is grayed out with "paused" under it. Can't restart it, it seems, and I can't reload it or update or anything because the current version of iMovie in the App store is apparently only compatible with Catalina. (By the way, WTF is that? It's not even backward-compatible with even the 1 previous OS??)

How/where/what do I have to do to get iMovie???

Catalina is backward compatible with Mojave.

To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your

iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the

trash. (You can skip that step if you had iMovie 10 on your computer before,

but deleted it.) Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by

clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see

your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from

there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash (if you

moved it there) and return it to the Applications folder.
