I have locked my iPad. It is new so no data saved

How exactly did you lock it? What happened to cause it to lock?

Otherwise, explain exactly what happened that caused it to lock.

What happened, did you forget the password. If so, you can use Touch ID. Or you can call Apple to reboot and start fresh if you also have a Mac and there has been no information saved on your iPad.
