Can we get split screen? Or duo screen? Apple layers double screen?

iPad doesn’t support an extended desktop experience, to external display, in the manner to which you may be accustomed when using other computing platforms - such as MS Windows.

Your iPad can “mirror” its screen display to an external TV or HDMI connected monitor - or via AirPlay. The most recent iPad Pro models, with USB-C connections, can also directly drive 4K displays over HDMI.

Some Apps (e.g., LumaFusion and Affinity Photo) can also provide non-mirrored output to connected displays, such that the iPad screen and external display show different material. Likewise, some media Apps also provide non-mirrored output.

iPad can also be used as an extended desktop display for a PC or Mac. For PC, an example App would be Duet - whilst for Mac you might use Duet or (if supported by both the iPad and Mac) you could consider Apple’s Sidecar feature:

Other than yourself, nobody has mentioned any need to jailbreak - and, for clarity, you are strongly advised not to do so. Additionally, in context of Apple Support Communities, jailbreaking is also not a topic that may be discussed.

For an extended desktop from the iPad, the iPad UI (User Interface) paradigm would make no sense. As such, iPadOS does not provide this functionality.

Split Screen functionality within the confines of the iPad display, as is supported by iPadOS13.x, is supported.
