scanner not connecting

I get an error message when scanning to my HP office jet pro 9018. It says that it can not connect to the scanner. I'm using a MacBook Air with Catalina .

Refer to Scan images or documents using your Mac - Apple Support.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One is an Apple AirPrint-enabled device. It must be installed that way in Printers & Scanners. If it is not, then delete its entry in Printers & Scanners and add it again, this time being sure to specify AirPrint.
