iPod is disabled and says to connect to iTunes but I am doing something wrong

I have similiar problem and this doesnt work. Any other suggestions?

Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Force your iPod to restart, by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and the Home button. Keep doing this for at least 10 seconds, and don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep pressing and holding until you see the recovery mode screen.

If still it doesn't work go to Apple Store.
