Backups using Time Machine

I cannot get a full backup of 474 GB using Time Machine on my MacBook Pro (Catalina OS). When the backup reaches 92 GB with 6 hours remaining TM reports backup complete leaving me unsure if I have a full backup. Anyone having this problem/solution?

Does your drive show it is using 474 GB in Finder > Get Info?

Sometimes, that display in Time Machine for what it is going to back up is exaggerated.
