Navigating Spaces

I love using spaces. I regularly hit command 9 e.g. to jump directly to that space. I can't figure out how to jump to space 12. Command 12 just goes to 1. thanks

Open System Preferences> Keyboard> Shortcuts> Mission Control

Make sure the box is checked for the shortcut to work.

It is also possible to change the shortcut you use to go to a space.

In the screenshot below all mine are ⌘1, ⌘2 etc, etc

in order to change these click to highlight the shortcut

and enter the shortcut you would like to use.

There's an app I made (in the Mac App Store) that lets you name Spaces via the menubar. It also lets you give each Space a unique icon and assign hotkeys for jumping to specific ones (my hotkeys support Command, CTRL, Option, and Shift modifier keys). Because macOS APIs are limited, the names stay in the app and don't show up in Mission Control. But they are persistent.

The app name is CurrentKey Stats: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1456226992?pt=119982183&ct=asforums&mt=8 Homepage is https://www.currentkey.com

I hope you enjoy!

Thank you Eau Rouge

I looked at System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Mission Control

and at first I only showed 2 spaces, where your screenshot clearly shows 8.

So I started creating Spaces, and topped out at 16, and the next time I looked at the Mission Control Shortcuts, there were 16. So I learned something (not if I can only keep it in my brain until I need that tidbit 😀
