erasing content without apple id/password

I got a new phone. I cannot remember the password for my apple id. I started a new one for my new phone. However, I am wanting to erase the content on my old iphone, but it requires the old apple id and password before erasing it all. That would be fine but I do not know the password to the old email either. How do I erase the content?

iPhone 8, iOS 13

Reset the password to your old email, so you can do this

If you forget your Apple ID or password

Your Apple ID is the account that you use to sign in to all Apple services. Usually, your Apple ID is your email address. If you forget your Apple ID, we can help you find it.

If you forget your password, you can reset it from your device or your Apple ID account page.

If you can't find your Apple ID or reset your password, you'll lose access to your account and might be unable to use or reactivate your device. To help prevent this, visit your Apple ID account page periodically to review and update your account information.

See If you forgot your Apple ID password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201487

You also can use Having trouble signing in/iForgot  https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid

And you undoubtedly will need to see If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201485

If you end up not being unable answer your security questions successfully, and I think that is very likely, then see: Security and your Apple ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201303

This document says “without proof of your identity via security questions and other carefully selected criteria, Apple Support can't help you reset a password or perform any other actions on your account.”

Thus, we can do nothing to help you if you can't answer your security questions successfully, except to mention that Apple support might help you if you have an extenuating circumstance (e.g., you have the receipt for your purchase of the device new with its serial number on it). If you want to contact Apple support to discuss any possible extenuating circumstance, see these support options:
