Audio input for Logic X out of sync

Logic 10.5

iMac 2015 4 core G7

Scarlett solo interface

I record through the guitar input or the microphone; it sounds fine when I monitor it while playing but the recorded result runs just a little ahead of the rest of the tracks. I have tried all manner of settings including low-latency, but nothing works. I can manually adjust the track to slide it into place, but that's a pain, particularly if I want to punch in a revision. Midi input works fine. I've gone back to recording vocals and guitar tracks in a Garageband file, then opening it in Logic and editing the tracks there. It works but its a work-around. Clumsy and annoying.

Does anyone even know what this problem is? Let alone how to correct it?

In Logic's Preferences/Audio is the Recording Delay slider set to the center <0> position?
