Playing Pokemon Go on Ipad Mini 2

Why does Ipad drop off while playing Pokémon Go, especially when entering gyms, opening and sending gifts to friends. doing raids, etc. if anyone has any tips that may help would be great. Otherwise I'm thinking my Ipad is too old to support this App Game. Please get back to me soon. Thank you!!!

So my best solution is to get a newer Ipad?? I also use my iPhone 6S to play and I have minimum problems with this device. My problem with the Ipad is to a point that when I want to place a Pokémon in a Gym to defend it, I sign out of my account on the iPhone and sign in on the account of the Ipad, do what I need to do then reverse the procedure. But it is very frustrating to keep doing this. Thank you for your point of view, I just wanted to seek all options before replacing my Ipad. Thank you again for responding.

If there are any other suggestions, I would appreciate a response. Thanks!!!
