Apple Watch Series 4 Fall Detection Not Working

My aunt brought this watch for me for the fall detection features. I’ve fallen multiple times, and it has yet to work. I have everything enabled. I would have thought that maybe I had a bum watch, but this is a replacement. For those who may offer advice, I have turned my fall detection off and back on on both my watch and the app. I also turned the wrist detection off and back on.

To describe just how bad the fall detection is, I have a bruise from my watch, yet the system didn’t go into effect. Thankfully, someone was in the house with me. In comparison, we had to lower the sensitivity on my aunt’s Samsung watch because it would call us if she brushed her arm on the doorway. What else can I do? We feel like my aunt wasted her money.

Did you setup an emergency ID?

Read here: Create an emergency Medical ID - Apple Support

Note: If you turn off wrist detection, Apple Watch Series 4 and later won’t automatically make an emergency call even after it has detected a hard impact fall.
