Timer turning off apple watch series 5

I have activated the timer a few times on my apple watch series 5, current update installed, and it will turn my apple watch off. Is anyone else have this problem? The only way I can turn it back on is putting it on a charger.

Try a reboot. If that fails, try the unpair and erase and re-pair and restore, and failing that would then contact Apple Support.

This seems like it might be bad hardware, but it’s also possibly due to a local corruption. The reboot, or the backup-wipe-restore may (would?) clear the latter. But if this is bad hardware, it’ll be a repair or replacement. And if this is headed for replacement, a backup and unpairing will be involved.
