Using MacBook Pro (2012) as second screen for Mac Mini (2018)

Hi guys,

I was wondering if this was possible; I'd like to use my MacBook Pro (mid 2012) as a second screen for my Mac Mini (2018)?

I know it's fairly easy to send information OUT of the MacBook Pro (it's easy enough from the thunderbolt socket) but is it possible to do it the other way around?

My Mac Mini is the main computer here, so that's why I'm looking to do it that way round.

Cheers,

James

you used to be able to do it with imacs, but never macbooks

Use your iMac as a display - Apple Support

even newer imacs does not support it though

you can likely find some third party software which let you but likely only across the network rather than thunderbolt
