Copy & Paste turns to a Table in Keynote!

I am trying to copy some notes from the internet & paste on Keynote & I get this Table structure unnecessarily ! Is there a way to copy just the text alone?

text copied from a webpage will copy over the formatting

a work around is to paste the text into Text Edit located in the Applications folder

go to: Format > Make Plain Text

select then copy the text and paste into Keynote
