My macbook pro does not download any apps

I understand you can download items, but if that item is an installation package, attempting to install it is not working for you. Is that correct?

Describe what happens when you follow these instructions: Download items from the web using Safari on Mac.

Try booting up your Mac in Safe Mode, and then, try downloading an app.
