Game Center

My Son has never logged into Game Center on his Ipad, he's been playing games on it with no issues for a number of years. If he logs into Game Center will he lose all the game data?

The data should be stored in the apps he has been using, so logging into Game Center shouldn't be a problem. He might want to avoid playing any games that he has been playing by using an app.
