reconnecting AirPort Extreme after internet issue

I was having connectivity issues so I unplugged my Ethernet cable so I could plug my laptop directly into the modem. Now when I go to hook the AirPort back up I am getting the blinking amber light and it is says no internet connection in the AirPort utility. If I connect direct to my computer I have internet. I have unplugged power and tried that. I also tried the reset button but I don’t think that did anything at all.

I have an AirPort Extreme model A1408.

Power off the modem completely by pulling the power supply plug from the back if device or pulling the AC cord from the wall jack

Power off the AirPort

Wait at least 15 minutes......longer is better

Power up the modem and let it run for 5 minutes by itself

Then, power up the AirPort
