Malware/virus

Dear community members

My MacBook Air has today been infected . When opening a safari page the search bar auto populates with www.searchmarquis.com/

after a bit of research it appears to be a malware which redirects and possible steals info etc.

I have shut the browser down and turned off the Wi-fi as I don’t want to risk it any further.

Can anyone suggest the best way to delete it

Many thanks

MacBook Air 11″, 10.15

You likely installed a fake Flash update.

Download and run MalwareBytes for Mac. It's free to use and easily removed with its own menu option when you're done with it.
