AppleTV: Submit password followed by a sent code - Always wrong pass and starts with empty screen

I got an apple TV. Now I want to log in with my apple ID. When I'm done I receive a code on my iPhone. The assignment is to enter the password (again) followed by the 6 digit code sent. The result is always wrong (now tried 5 times). After that, the Apple TV will restart offering a password box to fill in. Apparently I'm in a loop, to start over and over again.

What am I doing wrong, I would like to watch Apple TV and log in via my apple ID

Regards, Rob

Try it like this:

When asked, enter the characters of your password (do not submit yet), then manually request a new verification code, then append that code to the password, and then submit.

(This way it avoids the time needed for entering both the password and the code within the time limit.)

You didn’t mention AirPlay before.

Signing in and submitting passwords has nothing to do with AirPlay.

AirPlay is for sending content from a different device (iPhone, iPad, Mac) to the Apple TV box.

The screen you are seeing is called Conference Room Display. Use ‘Menu’ to get out of that to the Home Screen. You can turn off Conference Room Display in Settings﹥AirPlay. Conference Room Display may not be appropriate in a home setting. The numbers are steps that users may take, not keys on the remote.

pfff, Yeaaaah we solved it (also two steps) The screen informed me ( find out on internet ) that its in an meeting room mode. The solution to that is to use the mini usb and connect to a divice with Itunes. After done that Itunes gives the oppertunity to restore the Apple TV in the default mode. After doing that I connected to my real TV and it started in the " select language" mode.

Than I whas able to execute your advice and, It worked like charm!!! I never new that I coult send the code myself. Now there whas much more time to fill it in.

I am no connect to Icloud and can continue to set the Apple TV like a new boughted device. Thans for your advice and patience! My irritations are gone with the wind :-)
