Wiping a phone

My iPhone X recently broke - the touchscreen stopped responding. I was sent a replacement phone and have since set it up but need to return the old phone. I am being instructed to erase the iPhone by going into settings before returning it. Is there a way I can do this with a touchscreen that won't work? My icloud online is already connected to the new phone. Thanks!

iPhone X, iOS 13

Find My:

  1. Open the Find My app on the new phone and tab the Devices tab.
  2. Select the device you want to remotely erase.
  3. Scroll down and choose Erase This Device.
  4. Select Erase This [device].
