No. You never own that music, regardless of how long you pay. You are just granted access while your subscription is active.
You can only access the subscription while you pay for it. Once you discontinue the Apple Music subscription, then you will lose access to the music you may have downloaded from there.

One last question and I know I am being silly - so if I keep the subscription for at least one or two months (paying) then I own it is that correct
