'Update Apple ID Settings' in iCloud in System Preferences

Message to update also states 'Some account services will not be available until you sign in again' If I sign out the message 'Do you want to keep a copy of your iCloud data on this Mac before signing out' comes up. This is not a feasible option because of the amount of data in my iCloud account. How do you resolve and sign out

If you choose not to download everything, it doesn't matter, you'll be able to access it again when you sign back in. If you don't have room for all the data when you do sign in, you'll have to enable optimisation, so you only have an optimised version of your files after signing back in.
