How can I access my files in the old iPhoto app (from 2015)? The program is no longer supported by the new Catalina. Did I lose all my photos?

Locate your iPhoto library file. That is where your photos are. Usually it is in your Pictures folder. Hold down the Option key and click once on that file, select "Open with" and choose "Photos" as the program to open the library file with. It may take some time converting or updating the library but iPhoto doesn't run under Catalina, it has been replaced with Photos.

If you just did an upgrade then your photos shouldn’t be gone so no worries there.
If you try searching for “iPhoto” in finder and click “This mac” so finder searchers the entire mac does the library file show up? (The library file have will have the same icon as before)
You could also close your photos app and hold the option key while opening it again and you will have the option to switch libraries. Does the library show up there? (If yes then you can click it)

Steve 626, my iPhoto files did not reside inside Photos. I did have photos in that Photos from before, and they remain in place. However, my iPhoto icon no longer opens to its files. The iPhoto pictures don’t seem to be findable.
I meant iPhoto did not reside inside Pictures folder.
