Giving away iPhone, data issue???

Hey so I gave away my iPhone a year ago and all I did was press erase all content and settings around 3-4 times. I did not sign out of my iCloud or turn off find my iPhone, however the relative I gave the phone away too has not contacted me with any issues. A year later I am wondering if they can somehow retrieve my data, such as pictures and messages. Is this possible after I erased all content and settings or no?

If you did not remove the phone from your account and they know your Apple ID and password they can recover any information that is in your iCloud sync. But they can’t recover anything that was on the phone. Erase all content and settings is absolutely complete, even once. However, you should have removed the phone from your account. If you didn’t and they ever need to restore or update the phone they will not be able to if Activation Lock is still enabled.
