I used to be able to set search criterion in finder using + icon to right of search ,( in finder menu bar). This seems to have disappeared. How do I set search criteria such as date modified, or kind etc

As an example, let's say I want to search for a PDF that was created between Jun 1 2019 and now, and the name of the PDF contains the string reward:
kind:pdf created:06/01/2019-06/28/2020 name:reward
This assumes that you have Spotlight enabled and indexing your startup drive, and that in System Preferences : Spotlight : Search Results , you have PDF Documents selected.

THank you. I was looking in the wrong place for the + sign , and your link showed a screenshot with the 'missing' + in the search line. Problem solved. I wasted a lot of time so am very grateful for your help.

And when you click the + button, are you not able to do this?
If you type into search, it should bring up the criteria.
Or, use Cmd-F from the start.
If it is a saved search, use the gear button menu to show the search criteria.
I tried typing into search .It lists files starting with that name. I cannot see how to search for files created between 2 given dates for example.
