macOS high sierra stuck in about 2 minutes remaining installation

wanted a factory reset on my late 2013 21" imac. therefore I have formatted my drive through proper process of holding command+R & erasing hard disk drive, and now while installing macOS High Sierra about 2 minutes remaining to completion of installation i-mac has gotten stuck for past 3 hours. (SAY'S about 2 minutes remaining.....) What should i do?? and what reason could it be??? (The whole process to install the OS has also take way to long, took more than 4 hours to get to the current stuck situation)...

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Other thing I would first try is to reload the OS. You did not say whether your internet access was via an ethernet cable or via wi fi. If it was wi fi, maybe there was corruption in the data transfer. I would always use an ethernet cable connected to my computer if at all possible, at least for the installation. Good luck.

Please attempt to restart normally, if your computer has a HD installed in it that may have failed. But try restarting to see what happens.Doing an erase and install puts a lot of stress on the install disk and an almost 8 year old computer could have a marginal HD to begin with. If it will not start, please take it to your local Apple Authorized Service Provider to be diagnosed.
