Caldigit Doc with MacBook Pro, Apple TV MacOS App Video Purchases have no Audio

I have a brand new MacBook Pro hooked up to two monitors and speakers via a CalDigit TS3+. It was all pretty much plug and play however when I try to play a movie or TV show that was purchased from apple I get video but no audio. All other applications tested to date work perfectly, safari, music, home movies within the TV app, etc. Tried all the troubleshooting for no audio, the TV App overrides any selections I make to the internal speakers. I've tried connecting the speakers directly to the computer but as long as the thunderbolt plug is connected to the computer I get no sound and sometimes while trying to force the switch the TV App crashes.

I am not aware of anything special about the audio of iTunes Store content, that might make a distinction between that and “any other audio output”.

I would advise to consult with CalDigit Support. If it wouldn’t be compatible for some reason, then I would expect that they would know about it.

They are connected to the analog port on the doc with a standard 3.5mm cable. In System Preferences > Sound this is how they show up:

Either option for CalDigit gets me sound on the speakers with any other audio output, again it's specific to apple purchased video content.

When I test the speakers in Audio MIDI Setup they test as stereo not surround.
