Thousands of Safari 'kill() returned unexpected error 1' errors

Every few minutes Safari will freeze for about 2-3 seconds. When I check Console I can see thousands of kill() returned unexpected error 1 errrors.

Any idea why?

Edit: Forgot to mention that the whole Mac locks up (inc mouse pointer), only seems to happen when using Safari.
