If my Mac is not compatible with new OS system is the only solution to buy a new Mac to upgrade the OS system?

Trying to get a higher OS system on my Mac Book Air. It is a 2011 model but is says that is no longer compatible to upgrade. Are there any other solutions to upgrade my Mac Book Air?

If you really want to upgrade to Catalina, and beyond, then the only option is to buy a newer Mac that is compatible with those Operating Systems.
