downloading app not from an identified developer

How can I download an app that is not from "an identified developer." Although I think I appreciate the "paternal" concern, I also resent the censorship. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Trusted Sources: Apple and the Developer:

Well, if something is sold in the Apple Store, I’m always skeptical about getting it elsewhere, other than Apple and the Developer. Why? Because getting it from whomever else could be a phishing scam.

Be Cautious of Providing Personal Info:

If you provide personal information to the seller, then it would be obtained and provided to them right-off-the-bat. So, always be cautious as to where you download and purchase items. If it is sold by Apple, then the Developer would probably be trustworthy.
