In my opinion, however, if you are installing a new Mac you should do a fresh install of your applications on the new Mac rather than migrating them from your old Mac.
I think that is good advice and is how I do it when getting a new computer. I don't know why anyone would want to migrate apps and their settings, based on different hardware, to a new computer. New computer, start clean when it comes to apps.
