can I use pictures from Photos directly as Mac desktop background ?

I would like to use pictures from my Photos library directly as Mac desktop background ? Or do I need to export pictures first ?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

You can use images from your Photos library. But it has to be designated the System Photo Library in Photos' General preferences.


Then in the System/Desktop & Screensaver/Desktop preference pane select the library, the album holding the photo and then the photo itself.
