We try to use the Mac Superdrive to read CDs on a MacBook Pro. Plugging in the Superdrive via an adapter into one of the USB-C ports of the MacBook Pro does not work. The Superdrive is perfectly functional because it works on a desktop computer (MacMini). Can you assist?
Via what adapter? The SuperDrive is bus-powered (draws power from the computer), and not all USB-C-to-A adapters support bus-powered devices.
That adapter draws about 0.9 Amps at 5 Volts. The standard is 0.5 Amps at 5 volts.
