I have a new phone and all of my itunes music i have purchased over the years is gone

Use iTunes and see Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support to restore any hidden purchases. Note that all of your media should be kept in an iTunes library (or various replacement apps in macOS 10.15 Catalina or later) and backed up so that it can be added to any new or restored device when needed.

You can download your purchases to your new phone by going to the iTunes Store app on your phone, then select 'More' on the bottom left and then selecting 'Purchased'.
