iPhone backup on MacBook Air
How can I backup my iphone to my Macbook Air? Do I have to buy a new cable/adapter or can this be done over wifi?

It says “To set up Wi-Fi syncing, first connect your device to your Mac using a USB or USB-C cable.” I presume that means I’ll need the cable?
The first time, yes. You can also backup using iCloud (200 GB is generally enough to backup 2-3 iPhones, and is $3/month).
