How to recover iPhoto content

After updating my iMac to macOS Catalina I couldn't open iPhoto, nor recover all the Photos I had in the Application iPhoto.

I like very much the way it worked. How can I keep on using it, or if not possible, how can I recover all my Photos and transfer them to Photo if it doesn't open now?

Thank you for helping !

You cannot get iPhoto to run in Catalina, but you can use your media in Photos.

Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library from your iPhoto media. Your iPhoto Library will not be changed.
