I am new to Apple Music. I miss iTunes. Is the music that I download from Apple Music mine to keep or does it disappear at some point? Can I download just like I did with iTunes?

You can download as before but it is not yours to keep. You will only have access to the music as long as you subscribe to Apple Music.
