intel computers and apple silicon

How long will apple support and provide updates for it's intel based laptops? I know they are planning to switch to apple silicon starting later this year. I am planning on buying a new Macbook Pro but I want to ensure I will still be able to use it 5-6 years from now if I want to. How many years does apple plan to continue to provide updates for these computers? Will they still have trade in value? The "for years to come" statement apple has made is worrisome. 2 years? 5 years? 10 Years? If you have ant insight or specifics please let me know!

We are not Apple, but rather end users like you. We are not allowed to speculate on unannounced Apple plans.


What they have announced was In the keynote presentation of upcoming changes at the recent Worldwide Develpers Conference. All we can do is to point you to the video archive of that presentation:
