I cannot find a way to delete horizontal lines in an Apple supplied template (Project Proposal) within the Pages.app. I have seen suggestions for how to do this here and here, but neither work for me. I am not able to select the line in the first place. Is there a new method in the latest version of Pages (10.1)?
Does someone know what I might try? Thanks in advance.

Arrange menu : Section Masters : Make Master Objects Selectable.
Now, click each horizontal line that you want to remove. Yellow grips will appear. Press the delete key. Because these are section master objects, they will be removed in subsequent pages of the same section.

You can select almost any object and place as section master. You position the object, and while selected, you choose Arrange menu : Section Masters : Move Objects to Section Master. As you have seen, it is useful for placing objects below the text layer, and that would also include a water mark of your creation, or background images where opacity had been toned down to reduce text interference.
Thank you. That did it. It is absolutely not intuitive. Do you know what kind of objects can be included in a Section Master, or how to put objects into the Section Master?
