Without FireVault:

  1. Restart MacBook and hold cmd + r
  2. Click Utilities -> Terminal
  3. Type "resetpassword" and press return
  4. Close terminal where you will find a reset password tool


If you have FireVault:

Type in recovery key


or


  1. Wait a minute for a prompt to show
  2. Follow instructions
