adding email addresses

i am trying to add a gmail address to my apple mail manager. I have 2 addresses that will not authenticate. all other addresses will complete authentication. that is 4 more gmail accounts. I have set gmail to less secure and it still does not authenticate. Has any one else had this problem and what is the fix? this is on a new MAC-Book pro 16inch MACOS Catalina 10.15.06

i got ahold of apple support (level 2) and after some work we went into the keychain access file and did a search on the email address that i was having trouble with and deleted the files that had the passcodes for that email. That resolved the issue of adding those files to the apple mail.

There was information in the keychain that did not allow the 'add email function' to authenticate the email address and passcode.
