Deleted Photos

my photos were automatically deleted from my iphone but they were in my icloud. Is this supposed to happen? And when I restore a photo from icloud, will it be deleted from my icloud and back to my phone?

If you delete a photo from your phone then it will also be deleted from iCloud.

You could save space on your phone by keeping low quality/resolution photos on your phone but keep the high quality originals in iCloud.
