Potentially gone for good

Doesn't matter what I do, or even if I'm in the Internet Recovery. Every attempt to either install MacOS, update the software, or even manage partitions. Heck, not even First Aid works! It always ends with the following error: "Storage System Verify or repair failed (-69716)".

A fresh install of MacOS? Can't do that on a corrupt drive.

Once again, the drive is fine. The data/tables are corrupt. Make a new install USB and re-install the OS fresh. Then you may be able to restore from backup.
