re-attaching clips

I am detaching audio and video clips to make changes to them separately (dissolves, fades etc.) When I am done and need to re-attach the two, the only way I see to do this is creating a new compound clip (naming it etc., and messing up my renamed clips). Am I missing something or is this the only way?

Avoid using Detach Audio.

Use Expand Audio instead. This lets you do what you want and then just do Collapse Audio and you’re done.

Having detached the audio, you have to what you have doing - make compound clips - to group them together again.
