I just got a call stating there was suspicious activity on my icloud account and I should not access any banking or similar accounts. I was prompted to select "1" on my keypad to speak to a representative. I did so but the entire call had an air of fraud. The call to me was made from a local (Fort Mill, SC) number and was transferred to a Columbia, SC number. Any Ideas?

That was a scam. Apple doesn't make unsolicited phone calls. If there was a problem you would be notified when attempting to log in, including when logging into this forum. Also see: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204759


If you gave them any information, you should consider it compromised. If you gave them your Apple ID/iCloud password, change it immediately: Change your Apple ID password - Apple Support


Also, the caller id number shown on scam and marketing calls is frequently not the number actually originating the call. The number is often spoofed.


One option to consider is Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207099
