If the back is cracked you have to do an out-of-warranty replacement of the entire iPhone. Click on the Contact Support link at the top right of this page to start the service process. If you purchased AppleCare + for your device you can pay your deductible and then have it replaced. If you didn't you will have to pay the full replacement cost .> iPhone Repair - Official Apple Support

It will not be free in either case.
