Is your iPad reporting this it is too hot - or are you simply experiencing a warmer iPad when being used with some applications?

It is entirely normal for an iPad to become warm with some CPU or graphics intensive Apps/tasks - especially if the screen brightness is high and/or the iPad is simultaneously charging from its Power Adapter.

It is however abnormal for the iPad to become uncomfortably warm, or too hot, to handle. If the iPad is too hot to handle, then you might have an issue that needs to be investigated by Apple Support - or the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.
