Touch ID

when I shut down my MacBook and I turn it back on and try to use my Touch ID it will keep say password is required to use and I put in my password but I can never use my touch id feature which Is annoying and this MacBook is the new MacBook Air 2020 and yes I have the setting in my Touch ID settings on which is to let Touch ID unlock my MacBook

Touch ID works on wake up from sleep. When you boot or reboot your Mac, your password is required for security reasons. With the Mac on, close the lid and it sleeps. Open the lid and you can use Touch ID to unlock.
