Last Macbook pro 16'' does not accept imac with target screen mode

On august 2020, I've booked the last Macbook pro 16'' (64 Go RAM, 2To SSD, ...) with 2 Apple adpatator thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2

I've got 2 imac 27'' (late 2013) connected to my previous macbook pro (late 2103) via thunderbolt 2 as secondary screen (screen target mode activated on Imacs via cmd F2) : it works well since years.

But with the new macbook Pro 2019 16'', the screen target mode is not working (even after Apple support contact that said it should work).

  • In thunderbolt detail information, it displayed that they are connected.
  • But the protocol for screen seems to not communicate (cmd F2 does nothing)

I also test with the last macbook air bought by my neighbourg this summer (july 2020), it doesn't work at all.

I bring my imac and MacBook Pro on an Apple Center as proposed by Apple support :

  • With the last MacBook pro, it doesn't work at all (We also check with different cables, adaptators ...).
  • On this Apple center, we also made a test with the first macbook pro 2019 they have in demonstration area (minimal configuration : memory, hd, 1rst graphical card, maybe OS not updated, ...) : it works

Have you a solution to be abble to reuse my 2 imacs 27'' as secondary screen with last macbook pro ?

Is there an update that will correct that ?

i've returned the new macpro 16'' to Apple.

I'm waiting this functionality available (2 imacs 27'' late 2013 as secondary screens) to buy the last mac book pro 16''; because i do not want to also buy 2 good screen 27'' (exept if Apple exchange with 2 imacs 27'' :-) :-))

It can't be done with s 2020 Mac which explains the MacBook Air. Maybe the 2019 16" MacBook Pro sold in 2020 is changed from the version sold in 2019.

Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support

"You can connect any of these older iMac models to another Mac from 2019 or earlier for use as an external display."
